About
Introduction
Sus+ is the Edinburgh network of social scientists for sustainability.
With around 100 members, Sus+ creates and facilitates contexts for social science scholars at all career stages – including PhD researchers – to identify shared research agendas and stimulate new scholarly collaborations.
We aim to enhance the visibility of social science research and teaching on environmental sustainability across the University of Edinburgh and encourage networking and capacity-building between academic staff, professional services and students within the University.
The purpose of Sus+ is to:
- Enhance the visibility of social science research and teaching on environmental sustainability.
- Facilitate contexts through which social science academic colleagues – both PhD students and academic staff at all career stages – come together to identify shared research agendas and stimulate new scholarly collaborations.
- Proactively develop a research community of staff and students from which we can respond swiftly to relevant funding opportunities as they arise.
- Generate opportunities for linking student activities with social science research to amplify our engagement with environmental sustainability issues in both teaching and research.
- Encourage networking and capacity-building between academic staff, professional services and students within the University.
- Enable KEI and wider community engagement opportunities for academic staff.
